I went through a brief summary of my thoughts on the game and introduced myself. I addressed a few of the season twists but decided to leave the cast assessment for later because I was lazy. Now for out next installment..........
Well hello my friends. This has been a fairly interesting start to the game. This is the first game I have played in a while that allows cross-tribal communication, so it was weird getting back into the groove of talking to a lot of people. I didn’t really reach out to many people myself and I generally waited for people to message me before talking to them, but there were still a handful I reached out to basically because they didn’t reach out to me.
The returnee twist really isn’t a huge deal because it just means those players have guaranteed to play the series before, and I basically know their aliases. Not that it is a huge deal, but it’s always fun to know who you are playing with. Like I touched on in my pre-game confessional the captain twist is an interesting one but if the winning captain literally doesn’t get anything for winning, it is no big deal at all. The biggest “twist” so far honestly seemed to be the way tribes were picked. Me being the hugely lucky person I am, I of course ended up on the tribe where I talked to just about NO ONE, while the other tribe had just about EVERYONE I have talked to before tribes were picked. So yaaaayyyyy there. I also was of course busy setting up FTC in twisted as all the action started, so I kept going back and forth and didn’t really participate in the initial rush of conversations and relationship building. Here is a quick overview of each cast member I have talked to:
Playing a bit of a character, but still fairly fun to talk to. We didn’t actually talk at all until we were in the middle of posting for the fire challenge. I found out a bit about him. Younger than me (sweet) as an incoming HS senior and also interesting in engineering, in this case electrical. Apparently he is an endurance BEAST because he broke that firemaking record. Good for him, and I really do like the guy. However, he did make himself a physical threat so now he is on at least Danni’s radar.
I love Morgan lol. We had a really sweet convo about GoT and we talked for a while before tribe swap stuff happened. Nothing strategic (like basically everything here) came up, but she was super cool and funny. She called me adorable and everything, said she liked me a lot more than the people she actually ended up on a tribe with. She basically listed off half her tribe as boring, so woot! I’m sure we can get together in a swap situation or something. For the challenge she was my H2H opponent and I was worried I would get her mad by beating her, but I think she was ok with it. She said I shouldn’t feel guilty and was mad at Vince for putting her in that spot.
Even though we didn’t talk much, I enjoyed my convo with Rodney. He tried to do the character thing a little with saying something about learning how to use a Boston accent. Then I found out he is actually European and I know way more about Boston than he does lol. We talked about having a bro-mance and stuff but I’m assuming he did that with other people too. He seemed to really like me and our convo basically ended as we alternated giving each other songs to listen to on Spotify as a jam session.
First person to talk to me. I was a bit surprised because it was literally like 5 minutes after I checked in when he messaged me. He said he wasn’t messaging people yet, but he basically said he loved Marquesas and wanted to express that to me and then had to go to bed. I was able to talk to him more the next day and I really liked the talk we had. He seemed like a cool guy and offered me a “cover your back” deal thing for if we ended up on the same tribe. We did not and I was a bit bummed out, but oh well what can ya do. Little concerned he may have lied to me in literally our first convo, but that is something to worry about later down the road.
She HAS to be a social butterfly. She talked to me for a while and I enjoyed talking about super random stuff and I also think she liked me (man I hope I am right about all the “I think they like me” things). But she would take a long time to respond sometimes and I am assuming it is because she is talking to other people at the same time. Like 4 people said in the group chat for our tribe that she was trying to fish for info. I may actually tell her they are saying that to gain some trust. I like my tribe but I would like to be in a good spot for a swap afterall.
Um………little hard to talk to? Also European and not amazing at the English language. But that isn’t the problem, it is more that convos don’t really move anywhere. I just wasn’t a huge fan of talking to her so I was kinda glad she ended up on the other tribe.
Was ONE pick away from being on his tribe apparently. I liked the tribe he picked way more because I had actually talked to a number of them. Couldn’t say the same for the tribe I ended up on. Interesting returnee and I know him better as Keith from EpicSbb3. From what I have heard he was a bit less liked in Pure than epic (where Keith was the literal man). He still seems to be very sociable and, once again, my tribe in our group chat brought up he was fishing for info about the fires being made for the challenge? Idk, I actually told him that has happening. I did it with the hope that he would trust me more, but I would think that is a pretty see through desire. I’m sure it earned me some brownie points though and he most likely does like me.
I was super sad to see Bobdawg have to leave because of his father being in the hospital, especially for around father’s day. Luckily you were able to find a replacement pretty quickly and it’s Burton! Very nice guy, I was online when he first came on when he messaged me and I tried to welcome him and stuff. Super nice guy, glad I had my convos with him. We talked about survivor for a while and that was basically it, nothing too personal so I didn’t make a super close bond. He was just a cool guy to talk to pretty much.
Dan is a pretty cool dude. We didn’t talk much though which worries me a bit. He seems to be one of the more active people on the tribe too. Talked about OITNB and job and school stuff for a while, I actually learned a bit about his life which was cool. We were able to connect on a personal level I think and was really glad because genuine bonds are the ones I try to make.
Didn’t talk a ton but still very sweet. I think she is on some sort of trip right now which is why she hasn’t been around a ton. I really don’t have much to say about her otherwise lol. We just did some small talk stuff basically and then she had to go.
Nick is a pretty chill guy. When I first started talking to him I was afraid I was being boring, so I tried to amp it up a bit with the exclamation points and saying “nice!” and other “cool people” words. We were able to talk and we also started developing a personal connection which was cool. I am a fan of Nick so I hope I may even be able to work with him in the future.
Very nice but also very aloof. Alias wise I would know her best as Alicia in twisted 3. Alicia was a TAD on the crazy side but that isn’t going to affect how I view Kim really. She seems very nice and for the little bit we talked I think she liked me. Her putting me so high on the challenge priority thing definitely showed she thought I have worth to the tribe at least.
When I first talked to her she was a bit boring and took a while to respond. Then the tribe switch happened and she became super active. Almost became a defacto leader of the tribe when she started talking a lot in the tribe camp. I am sure she has been talking to a lot of people but I made it my business to talk to her as much as possible during that challenge. Well I showed I was strong and I talked to her enough where she talked to me about being allies in an alliance with……..
Ciera oh Ciera. Second person I talked to and 100% messaged everyone when the game started. I tried talking about her personal life and what major she has but she brought up not being the most open because she has had bad experiences before with people on the internet knowing about certain personal stuff. So because of that and a bit of a language barrier (she is also European) I had a bit of a tough time talking to her, but from the bit I did it must have been enough. I think Ciera suggested my name to Danni as a 3rd in their alliance (I will remember that btw) because I did well in the challenge.
Now I was super worried at the start of this challenge I would be seen as a huge threat right off the bat. Generally I’m not bad at endurance and can usually spend a number of hours late at night doing these types of things. Luckily enough people did better than me where I am still a threat, but people probably don’t think of me when they think “threat.” They think of Coach or Danni or Ciera. Stacy bringing up my name in TC as someone who did well in the challenge concerned me a bit (especially when it also mentioned Ciera and Danni in the same post when we are supposed to be in a secret alliance together). But oh well, not much can be done there. I wasn’t going to hold back for the challenge either way. I like doing well in challenges because it is fun. PLUS, doing well in challenges means I get to use this graphic and call myself………..
So we lost the challenge but no one really seemed to heartbroken about it. Something I found out during the challenge was Vince actually went to each person on him team and asked them how good they were at endurance. I was a little concerned that Kim never did that, even though I doubt it would have changed the results much. But 15 fires? C’mon, that couldn’t have been too bad to beat. Oh well, I guess people actually HAVE lives outside the game or something. Weird.
But Cirie is basically the all but confirmed boot. I never talked to her and probably didn’t even make an attempt during the challenge. At least she makes our job of getting rid of someone easier. The whole “secret place” twist is interesting. Our tribe ended up just deciding to send Hali because she seemed to be one of the least active, so it hopefully wouldn’t affect the game all that much. I see nothing wrong with that logic, and it looks like the other tribe agreed because they sent power player Cirie to the place.
That’s it for this lengthy yet exciting episode. Next time on
A new challenge will be posted and an inactive gone. If we lose again? Who would go next? Will I make more alliances with people? How long will my alliance with Danni and Ciera hold up? That’s it for now, it’s been a pleasure.
